'A healthy heart your goal' is the slogan as the World Heart Federation leads a campaign to get players and fans to take better care of themselves at UEFA Women's EURO 2017.

Fans at UEFA Women's EURO 2017 are being encouraged to make a healthy heart their goal, with the World Heart Federation joining forces with UEFA, the Dutch Heart Foundation, the Royal Netherlands Football Association (KNVB) and the European Healthy Stadia Network to promote an active, healthy lifestyle among women and children.
Heart disease and strokes are the main causes of death for women across Europe. Most cardiovascular disease could be prevented – just 30 minutes of moderate exercise a day, five days a week, can help reduce the risk and keep hearts healthy.
The 'healthy heart your goal' programme offers advice and fitness tips and there are also #MatchFitWoman activity challenges, which range from cycling to the next match, walking up the stairs instead of waiting for the lift, joining in with a family kickabout or going for a walk with friends. It is all about making small changes to keep fit and healthy for the long term.
Children who exercise from an early age have reduced chances of heart disease and strokes in adult life, and the 'Speel je Fit' (play yourself fit) campaign has enlisted Dutch celebrities and international sports stars to get children active in primary schools, at home and, of course, at Women's EURO. Speeljefit areas in the Fan Zones will offer nine 'healthy heart' challenges for children and families to take on.
In addition, a mobile app has been developed by the European Healthy Stadia Network, with the support of UEFA, to encourage fans to walk and cycle to games at the finals, which take place across seven Dutch cities from 16 July to 6 August.
