UEFA will make payments to a record 659 clubs from its member associations for their contributions to UEFA EURO 2016 and national team football in general.

An amount of €150m generated by UEFA EURO 2016 benefits is available for distribution to clubs as agreed in the Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) renewed by UEFA and the ECA in 2015.

Based on the mechanism for distribution of the payments as approved by the UEFA Executive Committee, €100m will be distributed among those clubs releasing players for the final tournament of UEFA EURO 2016, and the remaining €50m among those clubs which released players for the qualifying competition of UEFA EURO 2016, irrespective of whether the national team in question qualified or not.

UEFA's director of competitions, Giorgio Marchetti, said: "European clubs are an integral part of the success of our national team competitions. Therefore, as part of our memorandum of understanding with the ECA, a substantial share of the UEFA EURO 2016 revenues is distributed to the clubs which released players during the UEFA EURO 2016 cycle, including the qualifiers. It is great that we can make payments to over 600 clubs, more than ever before. These moneys will surely continue to help the development of football around the continent."

In all cases, the clubs to benefit from these payments are those with which the players concerned were registered during the relevant release period. Only players released by a club belonging to a UEFA member association are taken into account.

The full list of the clubs together with the total amount received by each club will be communicated in the near future.
