KRC Genk kept up the pressure on Belgian first division leaders Club Brugge KV with a 2-1 home victory over KAA Gent but left it late.

Sonck strikes again
The prolific Wesley Sonck and Thomas Chatelle struck in the 81st and 87th minutes to cancel out Nenad Vanic’s goal for the visitors in the 22nd minute. Genk are now just a point behind Brugge with both having played 25 matches. Sonck now has 25 goals for the season.

Tilmant gets two
RAA Louviéroise also had an enjoyable Friday night with a 2-1 success over mid-table R. Charleroi SC that did wonders for their survival hopes. Frédéric Tilmant was the hero with two goals, with Thierry Siquet scoring an own goal for Charleroi’s consolation.
