Former Croatian international striker Igor Cvitanovic joined Japanese J-League side Shimizu S-Pulse FC on Monday.
The 31-year-old walked out on NK Dinamo Zagreb in January after claiming that the club owed him €1.2m in wages. "I've been let down by a few people, but this time everything has worked out," he said. "Shimizu are a highly respected club and I am delighted to have signed for them."
Cvitanovic, who is Dinamo's all-time record goalscorer with 300 goals, has also played in Spain's Primera División with Real Sociedad. The veteran forward teams up with Yugoslavian coach Zdravko Zemunovic at S-Pulse. The Japanese club finished in a disappointing eighth position in the J-League in 2001, but salvaged their season by winning the Emperor's Cup.
