The coaching changes in the Turkish Superleague close season have continued with Malatyaspor and Rizespor both appointing new men for next season, leaving Istanbulspor AS looking for a replacement.
Istanbulspor coach switch
Malatyaspor, who finished eight last season, have appointed Istanbulspor AS coach Aykut Kocaman to replace Mehmet Özdilek. Club president Hikmet Tanriverdi said they have agreed terms for a two-year contract and that the 39-year-old will sign at a press conference next Monday. Istanbulspor avoided relegation on the final day this season despite financial problems.
Özberk joins Rizespor
Meanwhile, Rizespor have brought in Sakip Özberk, who recently parted company with Diyarbakirspor. Club general manager Yilmaz Zehiroglu revealed that the new coach has agreed a one-year deal to replace caretaker Erdogan Yilmaz, who took over last month after Yilmaz Vural resigned and steered Rizespor clear of relegation with a final-day 1-0 win against Besiktas JK.
