January move
The 19-year-old midfield player – who scored in Sweden's 2-0 victory against Spain in the first leg of their UEFA European Under-21 Championship play-off on Saturday – will join the French team on 1 January, when the transfer window reopens.

Brothers in arms
No details of the transfer fee or contract length were revealed. Farnerud will link up with elder brother Pontus, who is on loan from AS Monaco FC, at Strasbourg, who lie ninth in the French top flight with 19 points from 13 games.
