Pizarro stands by Udinese

Udinese Calcio midfield player David Pizarro has agreed a new contract with the Serie A side.

Udinese Calcio midfield player David Pizarro has agreed a new contract which will keep him at the Friuli stadium until 2007.

Other offers
The Chilean international had refused several offers from Udinese in previous months and as a consequence had been left out of the squad since November. Having been linked with several other Serie A teams, Pizarro looked set to leave the Stadio Friuli, but today he accepted an extension to his contract.

Cup return
The 24-year-old playmaker joined Udinese in 1999 from Chilean side CD Santiago Wanderers. Last season Pizarro scored seven goals in 33 matches. On Wednesday he is expected to return to the team for the Coppa Italia match against FC Internazionale.
