Modena FC have signed forward Massimo Marazzina on loan until the end of the season.
The much-travelled 29-year-old has moved on again after playing the first half of the season on loan at UC Sampdoria from AC Chievo Verona. Marazzina began the campaign as a regular alongside Fabio Bazzani but then lost his place in Walter Novellino's starting lineup to Francesco Flachi.
Marazzina played 12 matches with the Genoa-based club but will now look to kick-start his career with Modena. The forward, who made his debut in Serie A with FC Internazionale in 1994, will hope to get back to his form of the 2001/02 season when his 13 goals for Chievo earned a call-up to the Italian national side.
He then joined AS Roma on loan but after a disappointing season at the Olimpico stadium in which he played only seven games, he moved to Sampdoria. He could make his Modena debut on Sunday when his club play host to Inter. Alberto Malesani's side are 13th in Serie A with 17 points, seven behind eighth-placed Sampdoria.
