FC Porto comfortably made it through to the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup on Saturday.

FC Porto comfortably made it through to the quarter-finals of the Portuguese Cup with an away win over second division Académico Viseu.

Convincing scoreline
The UEFA Champions League hopefuls triumphed 4-0 in the most convincing scoreline in Saturday’s sixth-round games. SC Braga also scored four times in a 4-2 home win over FC Paços de Ferreira.

Salgueiros win away
Vila Real triumphed 2-1 over Louletano in an all-second division match while another second division side, Clube Académica de Coimbra, were beaten 2-1 at home by SC Salgueiros. CS Marítimo ran out 1-0 winners over CF Os Belenenses while second division Leixões SC were given a bye into the next round.

Sporting must replay
Friday’s match saw FC Alverca hold visitors Sporting Clube de Portugal to a 0-0 draw despite extra time being played. The match will be replayed on 9 January.
