The Modena FC midfield player Riccardo Allegretti will miss the rest of the Serie A season after damaging knee ligaments.

Weekend victory
The 25-year-old is expected to be out for six months as he recovers from an injury sustained during Sunday's 2-1 victory against Ancona Calcio. Allegretti was substituted after 13 minutes and subsequent scans have revealed that the ligament damage was worse than first feared.

Joined from Como
Since joining Modena from Como Calcio last summer, Allegretti has scored once in 17 matches. Modena are 13th in the 18-team Italian top flight.
