Oympiacos CFP won an eventful Greek Cup quarter-final first leg 1-0 against Panionios NFC.
Giorgios Georgiadis scored the game's only goal from the penalty spot after 61 minutes, after referee Ioannis Spyropoulos penalised Alain Rangouel for a foul on Georgiadis. However, the match was suspended for 15 minutes after the 75th-minute dismissal of Arkadiusz Klimek of Panionios for using foul and abusive language.
Dedes leads protests
Giorgos Dedes, the Panionios general manager, threatened to take his players off the pitch, as visiting players and officials protested that Olympiacos's Thanassis Kostoulas had elbowed Klimek in the incident prior to his dismissal. Dedes' protests only earned him a red card too.
Panathinaikos FC won 1-0 at second division Patraikos thanks to a long-range goal from Jan Michaelsen after 21minutes.
