FK Bakı beat FK Khazar Lankaran 2-1 after extra time in the Azerbaijani Cup final on Sunday, the game bursting into life after a goalless 90 minutes.
With Bakı having beaten Khazar 1-0 on the final day of the season to deny them the title the Shipbuilders were out for revenge, but while Bakı's Jabá and Khazar's Emeka Oparah had decent chances in regulation time, there was to be no scoring until three minutes into extra time at the Tofik Bakhramov stadium.
The goal was certainly unusual, midfielder Ernad Skulić beating Kamran Agayev in the Khazar goal with a long ball forward. A second Croatian player, Aleksandar Šolic, made it 2-0 with another shot from outside the area and, while Albania defender Elvin Beqiri's free-kick reduced the deficit, Bakı prevailed to take the cup for the second time.
