CSKA swoop for Ferreira

PFC CSKA Moskva have signed promising Argentinian midfield player Osmar Ferreira from CA River Plate.

Russian title-holders PFC CSKA Moskva have signed Argentinian midfield player Osmar Ferreira from CA River Plate.

Four-year deal
The 21-year old moves for a fee of around €4m, one of the biggest in Russian Premier-Liga history. Ferreira, who scored two goals in helping Argentina to the semi-finals of last year's FIFA World Youth Championship in the United Arab Emirates, has signed a four-year deal. He also helped Argentina past Brazil to qualify for this summer's Olympic Games football tournament.

'Very strong side'
Ferreira said: "CSKA are a very strong side and the holders of the Russian championship. They will also participate in the UEFA Champions League. In accepting CSKA's offer I get some financial benefits - I hope for footballing benefits as well." He joins fellow South American prospect Daniel Carvalho, who was in the victorious Brazil side in the UAE.
