Sá Pinto's misery continues

Knee surgery has sidelined Sporting Clube de Portugal's Ricardo Sá Pinto for another month.

Sporting Clube de Portugal striker Ricardo Sá Pinto will miss another month of football after undergoing knee surgery.

Plagued by injuries
The Portuguese international, who has been plagued by injuries all season, is not expected to be available for Sporting for at least another month after undergoing surgery this week. Sá Pinto has been struggling with injuries since the first game of the I. Divisão season on 12 August when he was withdrawn from Sporting’s game with FC Porto with a strained internal ligament in his right knee.

Missing since November
His luck did not improve when a similar injury to the same knee forced him out of Sporting’s round-seven meeting with Vitória Guimarães, and although he recovered from that setback, a further knee injury incurred during the club’s UEFA Cup tie with Swedish side Halmstads BK in November has kept Sá Pinto on the sidelines ever since.
