Smit loaned to Bologna

Bologna FC have signed Vlado Smit on loan from FK Zeleznik until the end of the season.

Bologna FC have signed former Yugoslavian Under-21 international Vlado Smit on loan until the end of the season.

‘Best league in Europe’
The 22-year-old FK Zeleznik defender switched to the Italian Serie A club for €150,000. "Until now I played for smaller Yugoslavian clubs and now I am leaving for the best league in Europe," he said. "This is more than I could have dreamed of."

Form team
Bologna are currently enjoying a successful season in Serie A, lying in seventh position in the table, two points behind fourth-placed AC Chievo Verona.
