FC Steaua Bucureşti secured a record 20th Romanian Cup title with a 2-1 victory over arch-rivals FC Dinamo Bucureşti in Brasov.
In the first Romanian Cup final between the two Bucharest sides in 21 years, it was Steaua who took the lead through Nicolae Dică's superb free-kick from 20 metres. Gabriel Torje levelled with a set piece of his own before Ştefan Bărboianu's miraculous own goal from the edge of the area shortly after the break which ultimately earned victory for Steaua. It was the Roş-Albaştrii's first Romanian Cup triumph since 1999.
