Ba returns to Milan

Ibrahim Ba has returned to Milan AC after ending his loan spell at Olympique de Marseille.

French international defender Ibrahim Ba is to return to Milan AC after his loan spell at Olympique de Marseille was cut short.

Early return
Milan confirmed that Ba, who was due to stay with Marseille until the end of this season, will be available for selection by coach Carlo Ancelotti from Monday.

Serious knee injury
Ba joined Milan from FC Girondins de Bordeaux in 1997 and was part of the 1999 Serie A winning side, but was then loaned out to AC Perugia where he suffered a serious knee injury. The combative defender, who still has 18 months left on his contract with the San Siro club, moved to Marseille on a one-year loan deal in July.

Eight French caps
Ba has been capped eight times by France but did not feature in the squads which triumphed at the 1998 FIFA World Cup and EURO 2000™.
