Mennes goes Westerlo

KFC Lommelse SK midfield player Wim Mennes has agreed to join KVC Westerlo next season.

KFC Lommelse SK midfield player Wim Mennes has agreed to join KVC Westerlo on a Bosman free transfer next season.

Verbal agreement
Mennes, 25, has signed a four-year deal with Westerlo, even though Lommelse claim they had a verbal agreement with the player to renew his present deal. Lommelse are currently lying ninth in the Belgian first division, five places ahead of Westerlo.

Coach concerned
Lommelse coach Harm van Veldhoven said: "I kept on telling the board to get him to put pen to paper. Now I can only hope that I can count on him until the end of the season.”
