Bundesliga club TSV 1860 München have announced the signing of Brazilian defender Rodrigo Costa from FC Santos following an impressive ten-day trial at the club.
The 26-year-old will move on a free transfer to Munich and has signed a contract that will keep him at 1860 until 2003, with an option of a further two years.
Costa, the first Brazilian to play at 1860, said: "This weekend, my wife will arrive over here and we will move into a flat in Munich soon. I will also start learning German."
Meanwhile, 1860 substitute goalkeeper Michael Hofmann has extended his contract with the club until 2005.
