Portugal round-up: Deserved win for Marítimo

CS Marítimo secured an excellent 3-1 away win over Vitória SC in the Portuguese first division.

CS Marítimo gave their chances of securing a UEFA Cup place for next season a lift with an excellent 3-1 away win over Vitória SC.

Hosts take the lead
The home side actually took the lead on Monday night in the 25th minute through Cléber but Marítimo were still in upbeat mood and equalised eleven minutes later through Gaúcho. The visitors had to wait until the 77th minute to take the lead for the first time.

Closing on Porto
Dinda scored the crucial goal and ten minutes later Daniel Kenedy sealed the win. The three points mean Marítimo are now six points behind third-placed FC Porto, who occupy the UEFA Cup qualifying spot.
