The Copa Constituciò is heading for the UE Santa Coloma trophy cabinet for the first time after Luis Miguel Do Nascimento's extra-time strike from the halfway line proved the wining goal in the final against UE Sant Julià.

Andorran Cup final victims to the same opponents in 2010 and 2011, Emiliano González's side were determined not to suffer the same fate at the Estadi Comunal on Sunday. Behind twice in the encounter to goals from Fabio Serra and Manuel Veiga 'Riera', Jordi Rubio responded on both occasions with his second coming in the last minute of normal time. Do Nascimento's lofted strike from halfway subsequently sent the UE Santa Coloma players into delerium and they held out to lift the trophy for the first time.

"It was an incredibly emotional showpiece and these players deserve their win having competed in three finals now," said González. The coach only recently took over from Luis Miquel Aloy at the helm and expressed gratitude to his predecessor after the final whistle. "This is his title too," González said. "[When I arrived] I only had to slightly lift the players' morale and make small tactical changes; the quality was already there."

That quality was in evidence from man-of-the match Rubio whose flicked finish in the 24th minute brought the teams level, Fabio Serra's rebounded effort having initially put UE Sant Julià ahead. Riera's close-range finish put González's charges behind once again just two minutes later but Rubio's clever free-kick in the final seconds sent the encounter into extra time. It was then that Do Nascimento thumped the winning effort from halfway.

"I'm thrilled for the team; this prize is for everyone [associated with the club]," Andorran international Rubio said afterwards. "The truth is that it was our turn to win this title after reaching three finals."
