UC Sampdoria have parted company with coach Delio Rossi in the wake of Sunday night's 2-1 defeat at ACF Fiorentina.
The 52-year-old Rossi was appointed in December 2012 to replace Ciro Ferrara, becoming the seventh coach to work with both Genoa sides, and helped the Blucerchiati avoid relegation last term. However, Sampdoria are back in trouble in 18th place in Serie A with nine points from 12 games, having won just twice this term.
Sampdoria are yet to appoint a long-term replacement for Rossi, with former midfielder Francesco Pedone promoted from the youth system to lead the side on a temporary basis.
