Miskovic boost for Cercle

News round-up: Bosnia-Herzegovnian international Nenad Miskovic has joined Cercle Brugge KSV.
Cercle Brugge KSV have signed the Bosnia-Herzegovnian international midfield player Nenad Miskovic from FK Partizan. The 28-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with the option of a third term with the newly promoted Belgian First Division side. Also in Belgium, KV Oostende have taken on Australian defender Adam Griffiths who impressed during a recent trial.

Former England Under-21 international midfield player Jonathan Greening has moved to West Bromwich Albion FC in a €1.9m transfer. Greening, 25, has agreed a three-year deal with the Premiership new boys after losing his place in the Middlesbrough FC team last season. He was previously with Manchester United FC.

Belgian goalkeeper Nico Vaesen has secured a new two-year deal with English club Birmingham City FC, despite spending the latter part of last season on loan at Crystal Palace FC who won promoted to the Premiership. Meanwhile, Portsmouth FC's Senegalese midfield player Amdy Faye will miss three months of the coming campaign after suffering the recurrence of a knee injury, which could require surgery.

In the Netherlands, NAC Breda will be without central defender Rob Penders for several weeks after he tore a knee ligament. His knee is currently in plaster and doctors will know the extent of the damage once the cast is removed next Friday. NAC has also renewed midfield player Arne Slot's contract until 2008.

Another Eredivisie side, SBV Vitesse have suffered a blow after Cameroonian striker Emile Mbamba contracted malaria while on holiday in Africa. The 21-year-old's condition is stable but he is unlikely to be fit for the start of the season on 13 August.

Austria's VfB Admira Wacker Mödling have signed midfield player Enrico Kulovits after a successful trial. Kulovits was available on a free transfer after his one-year deal with Greek club Xanthi FC expired. Elsewhere, Bundesliga leaders SK Rapid Wien have loaned 20-year-old forward Roman Kienast to second division SCR Altach to give the youngster regular football.

Belgian side KVC Westerlo have signed German youth international striker Sebastian Kneissl from Chelsea FC on a one-year loan. The 21-year-old spent part of last season in Scotland with Dundee FC.
