Popovics takes charge
The former Hungarian international decided to hand in his notice following the 3-0 defeat by lowly Haladás VSC yesterday. "After this unsuccessful month we could not say anything sadly but yes to the offer," said MTK's technical director Ferenc Fülöp. The club have appointed Sándor Popovics as caretaker coach.

European aim
Prior to Tuesday's reverse, MTK went down 4-1 at home against Dunaferr SE on Saturday. Despite those defeats, the club are still seven points clear at the top of the table and on course for a place in next season's UEFA Champions League.
