Roumas re-elected in Belarus

Sergei Roumas will serve as Football Federation of Belarus (BFF) president for another four years after being re-elected at the association's congress in Minsk.

Sergei Roumas has been re-elected as Football Federation of Belarus (BFF) president for a new four-year term at a congress in Minsk.

Roumas was the only candidate for the president's position which he took up on 22 April 2011, and will remain at the helm of the Belarus national association until 2019.

"We have done a great job with football development in accordance with the state programme," said the 45-year-old. "Our Executive Committee decided to raise financial support for the regional federations. Through these efforts, the number of grassroots teams has risen. Over the last four years, we have doubled the number of active players in Belarus up to 300,000."
