Uruguayan set for Deportivo return

Striker Sebastian Abreu will return to RC Deportivo La Coruña after impressing in Mexico.

Uruguayan international striker Sebastian Abreu will return to RC Deportivo La Coruña at the end of the season after a successful campaign in Mexico.

Fruitful career
Abreu is contracted to the Municipal de Riazor stadium club until 2007, but Deportivo let the player return to South America to play first-team football and gain more experience ahead of what promises to be a fruitful career in the Primera División.

World Cup place
The forward has been playing for CD Cruz Azul this term, scoring 18 goals to move himself firmly into contention for a place in Víctor Púa's 23-man FIFA World Cup squad.
