Ventura to leave Udinese

Udinese Calcio have parted company with coach Giampiero Ventura after a difficult season.

Udinese Calcio have parted company with coach Giampiero Ventura.

Difficult season
Ventura joined Udinese in December 2001 to replace Roy Hodgson. After a difficult season, Ventura managed to help Udinese avoid relegation but did not enjoy the best of relationships with the club.

Spalletti possible
After both sides agreed to end their relationship, Udinese may well turn to Luciano Spalletti. The coach had a previous spell at the club two years ago, when he dramatically managed to help them avoid the drop to Serie B.
