Trochowski takes Hamburg option

Transfer round-up: FC Bayern München's Piotr Trochowski has joined hometown club Hamburger SV.

On a hectic day of transfers in Germany and Spain, FC Bayern München midfield player Piotr Trochowski left the UEFA Champions League outfit to join hometown club Hamburger SV. The 20-year-old, who joined Bayern from Hamburg's local rivals FC St. Pauli in 1999, agreed personal terms with Hamburg after Bayern accepted a €1m bid, and has signed a contract tying him to the club until summer 2009.

1. FC Kaiserslautern have signed Austrian goalkeeper Jürgen Macho on a free transfer after the 27-year-old was not offered a new contract by SK Rapid Wien. Macho has signed until 2006 and is considered as the short-term replacement for Tim Wiese, who is sidelined with a torn cruciate ligament. Kaiserslautern, meanwhile, have agreed to terminate the contract of former German Under-21 international Christian Timm. He has signed an 18-month deal with 2. Bundesliga outfit SpVgg Greuther Fürth.

Ukrainian champions FC Dynamo Kiyv have signed Romanian defender Cristian Irimia on a five-year contract. The 23-year-old, who can also play in midfield, joined FC Dinamo Bucuresti from AFC Rapid Bucuresti last summer and appeared three times in the qualifying rounds of this season's UEFA Champions League.

In Spain, Real Racing Club Santander have signed goalkeeper Carlos Xabier Pascual from second division side Amurrio CF. The 23-year-old, known as Xabi, has signed a three-and-a-half year contract with Racing, who have loaned right-back Cristián Álvarez to Córdoba CF for the remainder of the season.

Goalkeeper Sergio Aragoneses has returned to his former club Getafe CF where he will spend the rest of the season on loan from Club Atlético de Madrid. The 27-year-old, who is under contract with Atlético until June 2006, has been unable to dislodge first choice Leo Franco at the Vicente Calderón.

Japanese striker Yoshito Okubo took part in his first training session with RCD Mallorca at the club's Ciudad Deportiva Antonio Asensio this afternoon. The 22-year-old signed from Cerezo Osaka 04 shortly before Christmas and has completed his move now the winter transfer window is officially open.

Belgian side KRC Genk signed four players on Monday, with Belgian international forward Tom Soetaers penning a four-and-a-half year contract after joining from AFC Ajax. FK Crvena Zvezda forward Nenad Stojanovic has signed a three-and-a-half year deal, as has versatile Croatian defender Tomislav Mikulic, who joins from NK Osijek. Club Brugge KV right-back Hans Cornelis, whose contract expires in the summer, has signed a three-year deal that comes into effect on 1 July 2005.

Club Brugge have also signed Manasseh Ishiaku and Michael Klukowski from RAA Louviéroise. Both players have signed deals until 2008 and 23-year-old Canadian left-back Klukowski and Nigerian forward Ishiaku, 21, will both travel to a winter training camp in Marbella on Wednesday.

RC Lens striker Bouabid Bouden has joined United Arab Emirates side Al Ahli Club until 1 July. The 22-year-old Moroccan spent last season on loan at Beauvais FC and has failed to appear in Ligue 1 this season.

Scottish Premier League side Heart of Midlothian FC have agreed deals to transfer striker Mark de Vries and defender Alan Maybury to Leicester City FC, who were relegated from the English Premiership last season.
