Island move suits Iuliano

RCD Mallorca have strengthened the Primera División's leakiest defence by signing Juventus FC's Mark Iuliano.
RCD Mallorca have strengthened the leakiest defence in the Primera División by recruiting the former Italian international Mark Iuliano from Juventus FC.

One appearance
The 31-year-old played 187 Serie A games for Juve following his 1996 move from Salernitana Sport but fell out of favour following the arrival of Fabio Capello at the Delle Alpi. Iuliano's sole appearance this season came in the Coppa Italia, although he is certain to figure in the Spanish top flight, with the islanders having conceded 30 goals in 18 league matches.

Betis debut?
Mallorca coach Héctor Cúper has already signed Bernardo Romeo, Gonzalo De los Santos and Yoshito Okubo during the winter break. Iuliano, who has reportedly agreed a two-and-a-half year deal, could make his debut at Real Betis Balompié on Sunday.
