Club Atlético de Madrid have rewarded central defenders Pablo Ibáñez and Luis Perea with improved contracts.
The two players have had an outstanding first half of the season - their first at the Vicente Calderón - and their form has prompted Atlético to reward them with new and improved terms. The 23-year-old Pablo followed coach César Ferrando from Albacete Balompié, while Perea, 26, also arrived last summer from CA Boca Juniors. The players' contracts each stipulate a buy-out fee of €30m.
Colombian international Perea said: "I hope to continue showing the same commitment to Atlético that I have all season and my wish is to see us finish in a European place." Spain's Pablo added: "For me it is an honour to know I will spend many years here and I hope to maintain the high standards we have achieved lately."
