Olympique de Marseille defender Jacques Abardonado has signed a one-year loan deal with newly-promoted OGC Nice.
Back on track
The 24-year-old, who joined Marseille three seasons ago, spent 28 games on loan at relegated FC Lorient last season and sees a spell with Nice as an excellent opportunity to get his career back on track.
"I was taking a huge risk by remaining at Marseille," he said. "I don't consider it a failure - I will have great fun in Nice. I also know people there, like [former Marseille goalkeeper] Damien Grégorini and Kaba Diawara with whom I played before. And by the end of the season I will come back even stronger to Marseille where I'll still have two years left to my contract."
