FC Porto have agreed a deal to sign Argentinian forward Lisandro López from Racing Club in his homeland. The 2003/04 UEFA Champions League winners will pay €2.35million for 50 per cent of the player's registration with Global Soccer Agencies retaining the other half of López's licence.
The 22-year-old, who has agreed a four-year contract with Porto, was the top scorer of the opening stage of this year's Argentinian league championship, contributing 14 goals in 26 matches. He made his debut for the national side on 9 March, appearing in the friendly international against Mexico in the United States of America.
López made his first-team debut for Racing Club in 2002/03 and has subsequently scored 22 goals in 58 league games for the club. He will arrive to Portugal in the summer and is not classed as a non-EU player as he requested Italian citizenship last November.
