Penchev to stay
Bulgarian midfield player Milan Penchev, who was been at Valletta FC on trial and impressed in the 4-0 win against Mosta FC last weekend, has signed a one-year deal with the club.

Further boost
In a further boost to Valletta's prospects for the season former Maltese international goalkeeper Ernest Barry has renewed his contract with the club. Barry who joined Valletta at the beginning of last season from Pietà Hotspurs FC, had been linked with a possible return move to his former club Sliema Wanderers FC this summer.

Repay confidence
"The confidence shown in me by the Valletta committee by offering me a three-year contract makes me want to repay their confidence by remaining with Valletta till the end of my playing career," Barry said.

Asciak arrival
Mosta themselves have recruited Roderick Asciak, who turned out for Marsa FC last term, and the Brazilian defender Cristiano de Oliveira. Meanwhile, Pietà have signed 24-year-old Australian Daniel Cummins.
