Deportivo Alavés have moved to solve their striking crisis by signing the Romanian international Adrian Ilie.

Out of favour
Ilie heads to the Mendizorroza on a free transfer after he was released by Valencia CF at the end of last season. The 28-year-old had fallen out of favour at the Mestalla after failing to score in ten games, but will look to resurrect his career at a club who struggled for goals last term.

Goal shy
José Manuel Esnal's side found the net just 41 times in 38 league games, with Magno their top scorer with seven. First-choice forward Ruben Navarro registered only four times.
