Serie A new boys Como Calcio have signed the Messina FC forward Denis Godeas in a €1.25m deal.

Third new forward
The 27-year-old has agreed a three-year contract with Como after scoring 15 times in Serie B last season. He becomes the club's third new striker after the former NK Varteks frontman Sasa Bjelanovic and Colombian Jorge Horacio Serna, who scored 29 goals for CD Independiente Medellín last season.

Rolling back the years
Meanwhile Como have sold veteran Luis Airton Barroso Oliveira to Catania Calcio. The 33-year-old former Belgian international played a key role in the club's promotion, with 23 league goals in 2001/02.
