VPS Vaasa eased their relegation worries with a 2-1 win against FC Hämeenlinna on Thursday.

Two for Kovacs
Bela Kovacs opened the scoring for VPS in the relegation play-off game after latching on to a Mika Kouhi through-ball on 73 minutes, but the visitors were back on level terms four minutes later through Pekka Kunnola. Kovacs then scored a second following a mazy run after 84 minutes to leave Hämeenlinna hovering above the drop zone.

Honours even in Turku
Elsewhere, FC Jokerit came back three times to draw 3-3 with TPS Turku at the Kupttaa stadium. Auremaa Jarno, Marko Rajamaki and Jani Pylkas all scored for the visitors but each time Jokerit hit back, with Finnish international Petri Helin, Marco Casagrande and Toni Tervonen getting the goals.
