Ono makes Feyenoord farewell

Transfer round-up: Shinji Ono has left Feyenoord, Georgi Kinkladze is staying in Russia, and ACF Fiorentina have signed a Chilean international striker.

Japan midfielder Shinji Ono has completed his move back to Urawa Red Diamonds from Feyenoord, where he won the UEFA Cup in 2002. The 26-year-old had been linked with a switch to English Premiership side Bolton Wanderers but has instead signed a three-year contract with Urawa Reds. "I am grateful to club and the fans for a wonderful time at Feyenoord," said Ono, who played 112 Eredivisie games at De Kuip, scoring 19 goals.

Italian high-fliers ACF Fiorentina have acquired the services of Chilean international forward Luis Jiménez from Serie B side Ternana Calcio while loaning right-back Christian Maggio to Treviso FC. Jimenez, 21, has scored three goals in 16 games for Ternana this season, when Maggio, 23, has been limited to three substitute appearances under Viola coach Cesare Prandelli.

FC Saturn Moskovskaya Oblast have signed Slovakia defender Ján Ďurica from FC Artmedia. The 24-year-old joins the Russian club for an undisclosed fee, having agreed a four-year contract. Durica made 78 appearances in two and a half seasons with Artmedia. At Saturn he will link up with fellow new boys Simon Vukcević, Ruslan Nakhushev, Spartak Gogniyev, Aleksei Solosin and Vyacheslav Kalashnikov.

FC Rubin Kazan have rewarded Georgi Kinkladze for an impressive start to his career in Russia by handing the former Georgia playmaker a contract for the 2006 season. The 32-year-old former AFC Ajax, Manchester City FC and Derby County FC midfielder made nine appearances and scored two goals as Rubin secured fourth place in Russia's Premier-Liga in 2005. Rubin have also agreed a new three-year deal with South Africa midfielder MacBeth Sibaya, 28.

Also in Russia, Moldova defender Ghenadie Olexic has inked a new two-year contract with FC Amkar Perm. The 27-year-old has played 45 matches over two seasons with the club he joined from CSF Zimbru Chisinau.

A second AC Sparta Praha player has left the Czech champions for Turkish football after Adam Petrouš signed on for three years at BB Ankaraspor. The 28-year-old defender's team-mate Lukáš Zelenka joined Manisaspor last week. Petrouš has been capped four times by the Czech Republic.

French strugglers FC Sochaux-Montbéliard have recruited Cameroonian striker Valéry Mezague from Montpellier HSC. The 22-year-old, who failed to score in nine Ligue 2 matches this term, has penned a three-and-a-half year deal.

Scottish title contenders Heart of Midlothian FC have signed Lithuanian international Nerijus Barasa until the end of the season from FBK Kaunas. The 27-year-old has been on trial with the Edinburgh club for a fortnight. "He can play right-back, right midfield and centre midfield, so gives us options," said coach Graham Rix.

KFC Germinal Beerschot Antwerpen and Cameroonian forward Pius N'Diefi have parted company with immediate effect. The 30-year-old, who will play in this month's African Cup of Nations, has appeared just six times for the Belgian club since arriving in the summer following spells with Al-Ittihad and CS Sedan-Ardennes.

Gregoor van Dijk will join FC Utrecht on 1 July when his contract with Roda JC expires. The 24-year-old midfielder has spent five seasons in Kerkrade having previously played for FC Groningen, where his father Jan is a club legend.

It has been a busy time for transfers in Greece with Atromitos FC, coached by Christian Karembeu, signing 23-year-old Peruvian midfielder Roberto Merino from Akratitos FC on a three-year contract. Meanwhile, Egaleo FC have recruited 24-year-old Croatian defender Hrvoje Jancetić from NK Medimurje on a one-year deal and 21-year-old Polish goalkeeper Pawel Kiesek from KSP Polonia Warszawa on a five-year deal.

Panionios NFC have announced the arrival of 25-year-old defender Vangelis Koutsopoulos on a free transfer from PAOK FC. He has signed up for two and a half years. The 31-year-old former Ventspils captain, who played 25 league matches and scored three goals last term, has accepted a deal until the end of the 2005/06 season with the option of a one-year extension.

Cape Verde forward Dady has left GD Estoril-Praia for CF Os Belenenses, the 24-year-old penning a contract until the summer of 2008 with an option for a further two years with the Lisbon outfit.

Livingston FC have secured striker Graham Dorrans on a three-and-a-half year deal. The 18-year-old was farmed out to Scottish second division side Partick Thistle FC in September but has been recalled after scoring five goals in 15 appearances.
