Ballack seals Bayern's perfect ten

Michael Ballack's winning goal against 1. FC Nürnberg helped FC Bayern München make it ten league victories out of ten at the Fußball Arena München.

FC Bayern München's perfect record at their new stadium continued with a 2-1 victory against 1. FC Nürnberg, increasing their lead at the top of the Bundesliga to ten points. The German champions have won their last 18 home league games, including all ten at the Fußball Arena München.

Ballack winner
Dutch striker Roy Makaay marked his return to form with the opening goal, taking his tally for the season to eleven following a superb assist from strike partner Claudio Pizarro. Robert Vittek's equaliser gave the visitors hope of a shock result, but once again star men Michael Ballack and Oliver Kahn made the difference. Playmaker Ballack scored his ninth goal in 15 league games, before Kahn pulled off some superb late saves.

Dortmund win
Sunday's other match saw BV Borussia Dortmund play out a goalless draw at struggling 1. FC Köln, who stay bottom following 1. FC Kaiserslautern's 2-0 win at Werder Bremen yesterday. Dortmund now lie just one point behind Hertha BSC Berlin, who occupy the final UEFA Cup qualification place.
