Gorkšs lands Sweden switch

Latvia Under-21 defender Kaspars Gorkšs has signed for Swedish club Östers IF.

Latvia Under-21 defender Kaspars Gorkšs has signed for Swedish club Östers IF.

Impressive trial
Gorkšs will officially join the team on 1 December after impressing during a week-long trial. Östers have just won promotion to the Allsvenskan and will play in the top flight for the 2003 season. The 21-year-old Gorkšs has been playing for Virsliga basement club FK Auda Riga and has three U21 caps to his name.
