RCD Espanyol coach Ramón Moya has signed a new contract which ties him to the Spanish club until June 2004.
RCD Espanyol have announced that new coach Ramón Moya has signed a contract extension which will keep him at the Spanish Primera División club until June 2004.
Moya was appointed caretaker coach in October in succession to Juande Ramos, who was suspended after just five games in charge after failing to win a match and falling out with the club over player purchases.
After Moya's initial promotion, Espanyol won two of their first three games, and a week ago the club announced that he would be in place until the end of this season with the sacking of Ramos.
President confirms contract
Club president Daniel Sanchez Llibre confirmed that the coach's contract had been extended, saying: "Moya will continue with the club this season and a further one, although I hope that he can stay for more years." Espanyol are third from bottom in the Spanish top flight after nine matches.
