Debreceni VSC have accepted coach Attila Supka's resignation following the Hungarian club's failure to reach the UEFA Champions League third qualifying round.

Costly defeat
The 43-year-old will be replaced on a temporary basis by assistant András Herczeg. Supka, who had seen his side take four points from their opening two league games of the campaign, led Debrecen to successive titles in 2004/05 and 2005/06. However, the Liga champions lost 5-2 on aggregate to Macedonian counterparts FK Rabotnicki in the second qualifying round earlier this month.
