Diogo makes Zaragoza move

News round-up: Carlos Diogo has joined Real Zaragoza on loan from Real Madrid CF while Liverpool FC's Mohamed Sissoko is ruled out of action for two weeks.

Carlos Diogo has joined Real Zaragoza on loan from Real Madrid CF for the 2006/07 season. The 23-year-old Uruguay full-back was not part of Fabio Capello's plans for the coming campaign at the Santiago Bernabéu and both parties agreed a temporary move would be ideal. Diogo arrived at Madrid last summer on a five-year deal from CA River Plate and made 13 Spanish league appearances.

AS Monaco FC have signed Brazilian defender Fabian Guedes 'Bolívar' from SC Internacional on a four-year contract. The 26-year-old arrives as a replacement for countryman Maicon who joined FC Internazionale Milano earlier in the summer. Bolívar made 56 league appearances for Internacional, who have recently won the Copa Libertadores.

FC Utrecht have signed 23-year-old Denmark defender Francis Dickoh for an undisclosed fee from FC Nordsjælland. Dickoh has agreed a four-year deal, with Utrecht coach Foeke Booy saying: "He is a tall, strong defender who is great in the air." The newcomer played 103 league games for Nordsjælland.

Levante UD have completed the signing of midfielders Zé Maria from FC Internazionale Milano and Mathieu Berson from Aston Villa FC. Brazilian international left-back Zé Maria, 33, has signed a one-year deal with Juan Ramón López Caro's side, with an option for a second season. Berson, 26, who spent last season on loan at AJ Auxerre, has agreed a three-year contract, with a possible extra 12 months if all goes well. The transfers take Levante's summer signings to eleven.

AFC Ajax have sent defensive midfielder Robbert Schilder on a season's loan to Dutch rivals Heracles Almelo. The 20-year-old arrives at Heracles to replace Kai Michalke who suffered achilles and calf injuries against FC Twente at the weekend. Schilder has played four Eredivisie games for Ajax and is a recent addition to the Netherlands Under-21 squad.

RC Deportivo La Coruña have loaned midfielder Antonio Tomás back to Real Racing Club Santander for one season, just two weeks after signing him from the Cantabrian club. The 21-year-old moved to the Riazor with Israeli goalkeeper Dudu Awate in a deal that saw forward Pedro Munitis sign for Racing and midfielder Momo and striker Rubén Castro join on loan.

Liverpool FC midfielder Mohamed Sissoko will be sidelined for two weeks after injuring his left knee during Tuesday's UEFA Champions League third qualifying round draw against Maccabi Haifa FC. "'Momo' had a scan today which showed a tear of the medial ligament in his left knee," said a club spokesman. Sissoko, 21, should be available to start Liverpool's UEFA Champions League group-stage campaign on 12/13 September.

Celtic FC manager Gordon Strachan has been boosted by the news that defender Bobo Balde aims to return from injury for the start of their UEFA Champions League campaign. The 30-year-old Guinea centre-back has missed the beginning of the season with a pelvic problem but has almost completed his rehabilitation and is set for a first-team comeback.

Henri Camara has signed improved terms at Wigan Athletic FC, committing to the English club until summer 2009. The Senegal striker's previous deal was due to expire in two years but he exercised a clause allowing him to renegotiate after Wigan survived their first season in the Premiership. The 29-year-old said: "In my mind I never wanted to leave."

Hamburger SV are reportedly close to signing Dutch international defender Joris Mathijsen from AZ Alkmaar. The 26-year-old is thought to be moving to the UEFA Champions League contenders for a fee in the region of €6m, to replace new Chelsea FC signing and fellow Netherlands centre-back Khalid Boulahrouz.

Bundesliga newcomers FC Energie Cottbus have signed Poland Under-19 striker Przemysław Trytko from SKS Gwarek Zabrze. The 18-year-old has agreed a two-year contract with an extension option of three years and links up with compatriots Mariusz Kukiełka, Tomasz Bandrowski and Łukasz Kanika.

FC Amkar Perm coach Sergei Oborin has offered his resignation at the Russian Premier-Liga club. He decided to quit following Sunday's 2-2 draw with FC Moskva, in which Amkar surrendered a two-goal lead. The team are 14th in the table, with 14 points from 17 games.

Swiss champions FC Zürich have extended midfielder Almen Abdi's contract by three years until June 2010. The 19-year-old has scored two goals in 37 league games for Zürich and is a Swiss Under-21 international.

Iceland striker Marel Baldvinsson has agreed to join Norwegian club Molde FK on a contract until 2008. The 25-year-old has scored eleven goals in 13 games for Breidablik since returning home after four seasons in Belgium with KSC Lokeren OV, having previously played for Stabæk IF in the Norwegian top flight. Another Icelandic forward, 26-year-old Gardar Johannsson, is set to leave Valur Reykjavík to sign for Norway's Fredrikstad FK on a three-year deal.
