Depor new boy Bodipo breaks down

RC Deportivo La Coruña's new striker Rodolfo Bodipo has joined Juan Carlos Valerón on the sidelines after he succumbed to a similar cruciate ligament injury.

RC Deportivo La Coruña striker Rodolfo Bodipo will be out of action for most of the season after suffering a cruciate ligament injury on Wednesday night.

Cruciate injury
Bodipo tore the anterior cruciate ligament in his right knee during the first half of the Spanish club's friendly against a local third division team, Laracha CF. "I felt a crack and then a huge amount of pain. At least it is a clean snap, it could have been much worse," he said. The 28-year-old, who signed in the summer from relegated Deportivo Alavés, will travel to Madrid today for an operation before returning to La Coruna to follow a six to eight-month rehabilitation programme alongside Juan Carlos Valerón, who suffered cruciate ligament damage in July.
