Cypriot title contenders Anorthosis Famagusta FC have appointed Kyriakos Theocharous as their chairman.
Theocharous accepted the role after being told he had the full backing of his fellow directors and his predecessor Konstantinou. His first act as chairman was to state that Anorthosis would make cutbacks to improve their financial situation.
Anorthosis are fourth in the league but have seen three players, Polish imports Wojciech Kowalczyk, Slawomir Majak and Mariusz Piekarski, leave the club in the last month. On Saturday, meanwhile, the refugee club fell to a shock defeat at relegation strugglers Enosis Neon Paralimniou FC.
