Romanian champions FC Dinamo Bucuresti have made midfield player Viorel Domocos their first signing of the winter.
The 27-year-old has taken a major pay cut to join Dinamo after earning a €150,000 salary last season at Chinese club Yunnan Hongta. "It's true that in China I earned a lot of money, but I didn't feel that I played real football there," Domocos said. "We trained well, but from a tactical point of view the situation really is not that good."
Date with Dinamo
Having played 70 games and scored five goals in the Romanian first division for FC Brasov following his move from FC Universitatea Craiova, Domocos said that he was looking forward to making his debut for Dinamo: "Even if Dinamo are ten points behind the leaders [FC] Rapid Bucuresti, I want to be a champion and we can manage this."
Domocos left for the Far East at the end of 2001 and scored five goals in the Chinese league in 2002 as his side finished fifth. He will begin training with his new club immediately as they prepare for the resumption of the Romanian season on 1 March.
