The influential Cagliari Calcio forward Mauro Esposito will miss the remainder of the Serie A season after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in training.

Cagliari Calcio forward Mauro Esposito will miss the remainder of the season after damaging cruciate knee ligaments in training.

Ever-present
The 27-year-old, capped six times by Italy, has been ever-present in Serie A this season for 15th-placed Cagliari. He joined the Sardinian club in 2001 from Pescara Calcio, helping them to promotion in 2003/04 and scoring 16 goals the next season. The Naples-born player previously had Serie A experience with Udinese Calcio.
