Grassadonia joins Chievo

AC Chievo Verona have signed defender Gianluca Grassadonia on loan from Cagliari Calcio.

AC Chievo Verona have signed defender Gianluca Grassadonia on loan from Cagliari Calcio until the end of the season, while allowing Moreno Longo to move in the opposite direction.

Transfer request
The 30-year-old Grassadonia has had serious problems with Cagliari supporters. A group of hooligans burnt his car last week after he scored an own goal in Cagliari's 3-0 defeat against AC Venezia. After that incident the defender made it clear that he did not want to play for the club anymore. Grassadonia, who started his career in the AC Milan youth teams, was playing his seventh consecutive season at the Sant'Elia Stadium.

Straight swap
The 26-year-old Longo, who joins Cagliari as a straight swap for Grassadonia, is a former Torino Calcio player. The defender has not seen first-team action with Luigi Del Neri's team this season.
