Roma move for Marazzina

AS Roma have signed forward Massimo Marazzina on loan from AC Chievo Verona.

AS Roma have signed forward Massimo Marazzina on loan from AC Chievo Verona until the end of the season.

Fall-out with Del Neri
The 28-year-old Italian international had fallen out with Chievo coach Luigi del Neri and had already stated that he wanted to join Roma, where he will replace Gabriel Batistuta, recently signed by Internazionale FC.

Not eligible for Europe
Marazzina scored 13 goals for Chievo last season, when he broke into the Italian national team. This season, however, he has scored just three times in 15 matches. He will not be eligible for Roma's UEFA Champions League campaign, having played for Chievo in the UEFA Cup.

Bjelanovic bridges gap
Chievo have replaced Marazzina by signing the 23-year-old Croatian striker Sasa Bjelanovic on loan from Como Calcio until the end of the season. Bjelanovic has scored twice in Serie A this season since joining Como from NK Varteks last summer.
