Defender Simone Pavan will miss the next month of struggling Modena FC's Serie A campaign with a thigh strain.

Complete rest
The 29-year-old underwent a scan which confirmed he would require at least two week's complete rest before resuming training with the squad. He is not expected to be available for first-team duty until Modena's game against Juventus FC at the Delle Alpi Stadium on 16 March.

Serie A experience
Pavan has appeared 19 times for Modena since arriving at the Braglia stadium from AC Venezia last summer. The right-back made his Serie A debut in 1992 with Atalanta BC and has since played 123 matches in the Italian top flight. Modena are currently fifth from bottom in Serie A, only two points above the relegation zone, and face bottom-of-the-table Torino Calcio on Sunday.
