AZ Alkmaar have signed Brazilian striker Ari from Swedish side Kalmar FF ahead of their 2007/08 UEFA Cup campaign.

Kalmar deal
Ari, whose full name is Ariclenes da Silva Ferreira, has signed a contract until summer 2012. He will continue to play for Kalmar until 1 July and will move to the Netherlands for pre-season training four days later. The 21-year-old joined Kalmar in spring 2006 from Estacio De Sá FC and in his first Allsvenskan season he was Sweden's top scorer with 15 goals, though he is yet to find the net in the current campaign after eight matches. Ari is a Brazilian Under-21 international and has already taken part in training with the senior national squad.
